Our business, Himachal Punjab Transport Co, is located in Gandhi Nagar, right across from Road No 12. It’s a spot that’s easy to find if you’re familiar with this side of town. We’ve been here for quite a while now, working out of this same office. The area is usually busy with trucks and people moving goods. It can get a bit dusty and loud because of all the traffic on the road, but that’s just how it is in the transport business. We don't have a polished front office or a team of receptionists. It’s mostly just us handling the schedules and talking to the drivers. We focus on getting things moved from one point to another without making it complicated. Most of our day is spent on the phone or checking the logs to see where the trucks are. It’s a straightforward way to earn a living. We know the local routes well and we’ve built up a routine that works for us. We don't go in for fancy marketing or big promises. We just tell people what we can do and then we do it. Sometimes the weather or the traffic makes things difficult, but we just deal with those problems as they come up. It’s a practical job and we like the community of workers here in Gandhi Nagar. We’re just a local transport company doing our daily work. There is always tea on the stove and someone coming in with a delivery note.
