Guru Kripa

Being in Indira Bazar at B-130 means there is never a quiet moment. Guru Kripa is just a small place, really, but we manage to stay busy from the time we open the shutters until we close them late at night. The noise from the street is something you just get used to after a few years. We spend most of our time organizing the items and checking what needs to be ordered for next week. It’s mostly just me and a couple of helpers trying to keep things tidy, which is hard when customers are coming in and out all day. Sometimes the fan in the back makes a weird clicking sound, but we haven’t had the chance to fix it yet. We don't have a big office or anything like that. Just a desk and some chairs where we sit when things slow down for a bit in the afternoon. People from the neighborhood come by to chat or pick up what they need. We know most of them by name by now. It’s a simple life, really. We don’t do much advertising because the shop is right there on the main path and people just see us. Dealing with suppliers can be a headache sometimes when deliveries are late, but we manage. We just keep the door open and wait for the next person to walk in. It’s steady work and it keeps us occupied. There's always something to do, whether it's cleaning or counting stock.
