Globe Carrying Corporation

Transport Nagar is a world of its own, and Globe Carrying Corporation is right in the middle of it at J 83. If you’ve ever been down here, you know it’s all about trucks, grease, and a lot of shouting to be heard over the engines. Our office is simple, just some chairs and a desk that’s seen better days. We spend the whole day managing loads and talking to drivers who’ve been on the road for days. There’s always a stack of paperwork to get through, and someone is always looking for a lost pen. It gets incredibly dusty because of all the heavy vehicles moving around on the unpaved parts of the yard. We deal with a lot of different goods, so you never really know what’s going to be on the next truck. The phone rings constantly with people asking about their shipments. It’s a lot of pressure to keep things moving on time, especially when there’s a breakdown or a road closure somewhere far away. We usually have a pot of tea going in the back for the drivers when they finally pull in. It isn't a glamorous job, but it's what we do. The nights can be just as busy as the days because that’s when a lot of the loading happens to avoid the daytime traffic restrictions. We just try to keep the manifests straight and make sure the tarpaulins are tied down tight before the trucks head out again. It is a long day.
