Girdhar Icecream Parlour

Girdhar Icecream Parlour is located at 13/20 in Mansarovar. It’s a straightforward little shop. We have the big chest freezers lined up against the back wall. There isn't much room for anything else. We spend our days making sure the ice cream stays frozen, which can be a task when the weather gets really hot. The hum of the compressors is the only thing you hear most of the time. We have a few plastic chairs out front for people to sit on. It’s a local spot where kids come after school. They stand in front of the glass for ages trying to decide. We don't rush them. We know what it's like to want a treat. The shop doesn't have any fancy decorations or bright lights. It’s just a place to get something cold. Sometimes we run out of the favorite flavors by the end of the weekend. We have to wait for the next delivery. It’s just me and my family working here. We handle the cleaning and the serving ourselves. We don't have a big corporate plan. We just like seeing people enjoy their cones on a hot afternoon. Mansarovar is a big place, but we feel like we have our own little corner here at 13/20. It’s simple work, but it keeps us busy and we like the people.
