We’ve been here at 31 C Kishanpole Bazar for quite some time now. Every morning starts about the same way, rolling up the heavy metal shutters and seeing the traffic already starting to pick up near Nanak Ki Mandi. It’s not a fancy place, just a regular shop where we handle what needs to get done. General Agencies isn't about big signs or loud ads. We mostly just deal with the people who walk in or the ones we’ve known for years. The walls could use a bit of paint and the desk is cluttered with old bills and notebooks, but it works for us. Usually, the afternoon gets pretty warm, and we sit under the fan waiting for the next delivery. You can hear the sounds of the market all day long, the rickshaw horns and people haggling nearby. Sometimes it gets a bit overwhelming with the noise, but that’s just how it is in this part of town. We keep things simple and don't try to be something we aren't. Mostly, the day is spent checking the stock and making sure the boxes go out to where they are supposed to go. It is a lot of routine work, but it keeps the business moving. Most people find us because they know the area well or they were told to come here by a friend who has been coming for a long time. It isn't a glamorous life, but we like the familiarity of the bazaar.
