Delhi Hariyana Road Lines

Our spot is at S 70 on Road No 14 in the VKIA area. This is an industrial zone, so it’s not exactly the prettiest place to work, but it suits what we do. There is always a layer of dust on everything because of the trucks moving in and out all day. The office is basically a small room where we keep track of the logbooks and the delivery schedules. It smells like diesel and old paper in here most of the time. We spend a lot of our day talking to drivers, some of whom have been on the road for days and are tired and cranky. We have to make sure the loads are right and the paperwork is signed, or else everything gets messed up down the line. It’s a lot of coordination and shouting over the noise of the engines outside. We don’t have any fancy software to manage things; it’s mostly just ledgers and a few basic spreadsheets. The furniture is old, and the chairs are a bit squeaky, but they work. We drink a lot of strong tea to stay sharp. It’s a tough business, and things don't always go according to plan—trucks break down, roads get blocked, or the weather turns bad. We just deal with those problems as they happen and try to keep the wheels moving as best we can.
