You’ll find Crafts And Creations at G-180 in the Riico Industrial Area Bagru Ext. It’s a bit of a trek out from the main city of Jaipur, but this is where we have the space to do our work. The building is a standard industrial unit, nothing special to look at from the outside. Inside, we have long tables where the hand-block printing happens. It’s a slow process and you can’t really rush it. We spend our days mixing colors and making sure the fabric is laid out straight. Bagru is a quiet area compared to the city markets, which we actually prefer. We have a small group of people working here and we’ve all been doing this for a long time. There isn't a fancy showroom or a front desk with a receptionist. You just walk into the shed and you’ll see us working. We have a lot of open ground around the unit where we dry the cloth in the sun. If it rains, everything stops and we have to move fast to get the fabric inside. It’s a lot of physical labor and your hands are usually stained with dye by the end of the shift. We don't have any corporate mission statements. We just show up and try to get the prints right. It's a quiet, steady kind of work that we’ve grown to enjoy over the years.
