Craft & Creations

Our workshop is located at G 180 in the Riico Industrial Area of Bagru. Being in Bagru means we are surrounded by a long history of making things by hand. The industrial area is a bit dusty and the roads are not always the best but it is where we have our space. We focus on crafts and creating different items out of fabric and wood. The building at G 180 is a large open shed with plenty of room for us to spread out our tools. We have a lot of stuff piled up in the corners like old blocks and tins of dye. It is not the cleanest place because work like this gets messy fast. Sometimes the heat in the Riico area is almost too much to handle but we keep the doors open to get a breeze. We have a few local workers who have been with us for years and they know the craft better than anyone. There is no big sign outside just the plot number on the gate. We spend our days mostly experimenting with new patterns or finishing off old projects. It is a quiet kind of work that takes a lot of patience. When the sun goes down we lock up the big metal doors and head back into town. It is just a regular part of life here in Bagru and we are happy to be part of it. The work keeps us busy.
