Balaji Dhoodh Bhandar

Balaji Dhoodh Bhandar is located at Nursery Circle in Vaishali Nagar. Our day starts before the sun is even up. That is when the milk cans arrive and we have to get everything ready. It is cold work in the winter and very humid in the summer. Nursery Circle is a busy place, so we see a lot of people early in the morning. We sell milk, curd, and other dairy things people need for their tea or breakfast. The shop is small and smells like fresh milk all the time. We spend a lot of time cleaning the containers and the floors. Hygiene is important when you are dealing with milk. People from all over Vaishali Nagar come here. We know most of them by name or at least by what they usually buy. Sometimes the milk delivery is late and we have a line of people waiting. We just tell them to wait a bit or come back later. We don't have fancy packaging, just the regular stuff. It's a simple life. We keep track of everything in a thick ledger. We don't really do any advertising; people just know we are at the circle. By afternoon, things quiet down and we get a chance to sit. Then we start preparing for the evening rush. It’s a cycle that repeats every single day. We don't really take holidays because cows don't stop giving milk, so we are here every single day of the year.
