Ashok Readymade & Handicraft

Ashok Readymade & Handicraft is right here at 142 Johari Bazar. It’s a busy spot, and most days we are just trying to keep the shelves organized because people are always coming in and out. The market outside is loud with rickshaws and tourists, but inside we just focus on the clothes and the handmade items we keep in stock. We have been in this part of the bazar for quite a while now. My father used to sit here, and now I do. It’s not a fancy place with big lights or anything. We mostly have piles of readymade suits and some handicraft things that people like to take home for their houses. Sometimes the fan makes a bit of noise, and the dust from the street gets in, so we spend a lot of time cleaning the glass counters. We don't really do much advertising around here. People just find us while they are walking through Johari Bazar looking for something to wear for a party or just for every day. We keep a lot of different sizes because everyone who walks in is different. Sometimes a customer stays for an hour just looking at three shirts or a small statue. That is just how it goes here. We have some plastic chairs for people to sit on while they look at the piles. The walls are covered with bags and cardboard boxes. It’s a small shop but it’s completely full. We open up in the morning when the sun hits the street and stay until the market starts to quiet down at night.
