The Stone Store

The Stone Store is tucked into Shop No. 1 at Patel Vihar. We are located near the Essar Petrol Pump, right by Bengali Square on Kanadia Road. It’s a very active area with lots of cars and bikes zooming past all the time. Despite the name, we aren't some big chain store. It’s just a small local shop where we sell different kinds of stones. Most of our day is spent out front, especially when the weather is nice. We have samples of various stones lined up against the wall so people can see the textures. It's often a bit messy because cutting and moving stone always leaves some debris behind, but we try to sweep up when we can. We get a lot of people who are just stopping by because they were getting petrol next door and saw our sign. It’s a convenient location for that. We don’t have any fancy brochures or anything. If you want to know about a stone, we just tell you what we know from years of handling it. Some stones are better for outside and some are better for inside, and we just share that information based on what we've seen happen over the years. It's a simple operation and we like it that way. No big meetings or corporate stuff, just selling stone to people who need it. Sometimes we share a tea with the guys from the petrol pump when things are quiet. It is just a normal job.
