Surya Stone

Surya Stone is located at number 780 in Panchshil Nagar, which is inside the New Loha Mandi area. It is a very industrial part of the city, surrounded by other businesses dealing in iron and heavy materials. We fit right in because stone is heavy and requires a lot of space. Our yard isn't the prettiest place to look at, but it’s functional and that is what matters to us. We have all kinds of stones piled up, and we spend our days moving them around with the crane or by hand when we have to. The dust from the Mandi is something we just live with. We have been here since the New Loha Mandi was first getting started, so we have seen many businesses come and go. We stay because we have built good relationships with the people around here. We don't have a big sales team; it’s usually just me or one of the guys talking to whoever walks through the gate. We tell it like it is—if a certain stone isn't good for what you want, we will say so. There's no point in selling someone the wrong thing just to make a buck. We like the grit of this area and the honest work that goes into moving stone every day. It’s a tough job but someone has to do it, and we have been doing it for years now. It’s just how life is in the mandi.
