Rathi Tiles

The shop at Paiki Chowk stays pretty busy from the moment we open the shutters in Palda. We’ve got stacks of tiles everywhere, and honestly, it’s a lot of heavy lifting. My back usually starts aching by lunch, but that’s just how it is when you’re moving boxes of ceramic and stone all day. People come in looking for something for their bathroom or kitchen, and they usually have a lot of questions about what looks better. We try to keep the place tidy, but with the dust coming off the road and the samples being moved around, it’s a constant battle. Sometimes the fan in the corner makes this weird clicking sound that drives us crazy, but we haven't gotten around to fixing it yet. The tea stall next door is where we spend most of our breaks when it’s not too crowded. It’s a simple life here at Rathi Tiles, just making sure the orders go out on the right trucks and the inventory matches what’s on the paper. We don't have any fancy displays with bright lights, just the actual tiles sitting there so people can see what they’re getting. Sometimes the delivery truck gets stuck in the narrow part of the lane, and we all have to go out and help the driver navigate. It's just us doing our thing every day.
