Down in the Marble Mandi at Palda, that’s where we are. Shree Khteshwar International is the name we use, but mostly people just know us as the guys with the stone yard. It’s a busy area with a lot of noise and dust from all the neighbors. We’ve got stacks of stone everywhere. We deal with various types of marble that come in from different regions. Some people want the white stuff, others like the patterns. We spend our days showing customers the different lots. It’s a lot of walking around in the sun. We don’t have a fancy website or a glossy catalog. What you see in the yard is what we have. Sometimes we get new shipments in, and we have to rearrange everything. That’s a long day for the guys. We try to keep things organized, but it’s hard with so much heavy material. We’ve been doing this for a while now. We’ve seen the trends change, but stone is always stone. It lasts forever if you take care of it. We just provide the raw material. Contractors and homeowners come by, they pick what they like, and we help them get it loaded. It’s a simple way of doing business. No big promises, just showing what we have and helping people make a choice that fits their budget and their project. It’s a steady life here in the mandi. We're usually here from early morning until the sun goes down.
