Kanchan Marble & Granites

Our shop, Kanchan Marble & Granites, sits on Plot No-25 in Gangadevi Nagar, right across from the police station in Vijay Nagar. It is easy to find because of all the stone blocks sitting outside. We deal with both marble and granite, so there is usually a lot of heavy material to move around. The yard can get a bit crowded when a new shipment arrives. We spend most of our time out there in the heat, checking the edges of the granite and making sure the marble pieces don't have cracks. It is physical work, and our hands are usually covered in stone dust by lunchtime. We don't have any big sales pitches. If someone needs a piece for their counter or a floor, they come in, look at what we have, and we figure out the price together. Some days are slow, and we just tidy up the stacks, and other days it feels like everyone in Vijay Nagar is starting a renovation at the same time. We have been at this spot for a while, so we know most of the regulars and the local builders. It is just us doing our job, keeping the inventory moving and making sure the slabs are stored safely so they do not tip over. It is a straightforward life here at the shop, focusing on the stone and the customers who walk in.
