Sree Vinayaka Granites

Down in Village Bandragal, at No. 55/2, is where Sree Vinayaka Granites is located. We are out in the Kushtgi taluka of Kopal district. It’s a bit of a trek to get out here if you aren't from the area, but the land is good for storing large amounts of granite. We have a fairly large plot where we keep the raw blocks and the finished slabs. The work is mostly outdoor stuff. We wake up early to beat the heat, though it still gets pretty warm by midday. There are only a handful of us working here. We mostly just keep an eye on how the stone looks after it comes out of the cutters. Granite is tough, so it takes a lot of effort and the right tools to get it looking right. We don't have any polished sales pitches or brochures. If someone wants stone, they come down to the village and look at what we’ve got in the yard. Sometimes the power goes out, which stops everything, and we just have to sit and wait. That’s life in a rural area, I suppose. We’ve been part of this community for a while and most of the locals know what we do. It’s a slow pace of life here, aside from when we have to load up a big order for transport. We just do our work and hope the weather stays clear for the drying.
