J.B. Granite Industries

We've been at Plot No. 62 for a good while now. It’s right on Gajendra Gadh Road, just a short walk from Srinivas Talkies. People usually find us by looking for the cinema hall first. Most days here start early with the sound of stones being moved around the yard. It gets pretty dusty, but that is just how it is with granite. We spend a lot of time looking at different slabs and making sure everything is where it should be. Sometimes it feels like we spend more time cleaning the office floor than actually selling anything, because the dust follows you everywhere. It is a family thing mostly, keeping things running and making sure the trucks can get in and out of the gate without getting stuck. The road outside can get busy during the show times at the talkies, so we try to get our loading done before the crowds show up. My father started this and now we just keep it going one day at a time. We don't have fancy brochures or anything like that. If you come by, you just see the stones piled up and we talk about what you need for your house. It is simple work, really. Just cutting, lifting, and moving heavy stuff until the sun goes down. We use the same old desk we've had for years. It's just us here, doing the regular work every day and trying to keep things organized.
