Rameshwari Granite

It’s a bit out of the way compared to the city shops, but we have much more space to keep the big granite blocks. The village is quiet mostly, except for when the machines are running. We deal with a lot of raw stone that comes in on big trailers. It’s a dusty job, and the red soil around here gets mixed in with everything. We don't have a lot of fancy signs or anything. It’s just the yard and the stone. We spend the morning checking what came in and what needs to go out. The guys working here have been doing this for a long time, so they know how to handle the granite without much trouble. It’s a long day, starting early before the heat gets too bad. We have a small shed where we take breaks and stay out of the sun for a bit. Most of the people who come here are contractors who know exactly what they are looking for. We just show them the stacks and let the stone speak for itself. It’s a simple way of doing things, but it works for us out here in the village. The air is a bit clearer than in town, even with the dust from the stone.
