Sukh Sansar Restaurant

If you know where Hotel Marjan International is on Chapel Road, that’s where you’ll find us. We are right inside, occupying Door No 5-9-167-169. It’s a busy part of Nampally, especially since we are right across from the Public Garden. You can see the trees from the front sometimes. Being inside the hotel means we get a mix of people staying upstairs and folks just walking in from the street. Nampally is always crowded with cars and rickshaws, so it can be quite a task just getting across the road to us. The restaurant itself is pretty straightforward. We don’t spend much on advertising or anything like that. Word of mouth usually brings people in. My cousin and I help out with the daily stuff, from checking the supplies to making sure the seating area is tidy. It’s an old building, so it has that specific smell of old wood and stone, but we try to keep it as clean as possible. The kitchen is always hot, no matter what the weather is like outside. We’ve had some of the same staff for years now, and they know the menu by heart. Sometimes we run out of things early if the lunch rush is bigger than we expected. It’s just how it goes. We don't have a big corporate office or anything. It's just us here on Chapel Road, day in and day out, doing the best we can with what we have.
