Right in the heart of Hyderabad, in the busy Abids area, you’ll find Stanley College Of Engineering & Technology For Women. Our address is a bit long, spanning several door numbers on Chapel Road, but most people just know us as being near the old landmarks of Abids. It’s a very crowded part of town, so there is always the sound of traffic and people outside. Inside the gates, though, it’s a different world. It’s a place for women to study and get their engineering degrees without all the distractions. The buildings have a lot of history to them, and they don't look like the new glass towers you see in Hitech City. It feels more solid and traditional. The staff here are like a big family, and many have been here for a very long time. Students are always rushing between classes or sitting in the library. Because we are in the middle of the city, everything is close by—shops, bookstores, and plenty of places to eat. The halls can be a bit noisy when classes let out, but that’s expected in a place with so many people. We focus on the basics here. It’s about getting the syllabus finished and making sure everyone is prepared for their futures. We don't have fancy marketing brochures; we just have the daily routine of a busy city college. It’s a bit cramped sometimes, but that’s just life in the middle of Hyderabad.
