We’ve been running Satya Asian Paints here in Chanda Nagar for quite some time now. It’s a decent sized shop right in the Miyapur area. Mostly, we just spend our days helping people figure out what shade of white or blue they want for their living room walls. It gets a bit messy with all the cans lying around, but that’s just how a paint shop works. My cousin helps me out sometimes when things get busy during the festival season. We stock a lot of the usual Asian Paints stuff because that’s what people around here usually ask for. The shop isn't anything fancy, just a plain counter and rows of shelves filled with buckets. Sometimes the delivery truck comes late and we have to move things around to make space. It's a lot of lifting and carrying. Most of the folks who come in are our neighbors or people living in the new apartments nearby. We know most of them by name. It’s nice when someone comes back to show us a photo of their finished house. We don't do much advertising, word of mouth usually keeps us going. If you're walking down the main road in Chanda Nagar, you'll see our sign. It's a bit faded from the sun but we’re still here every day except Sundays. Just a local business trying to keep things moving. We try to keep the stock fresh so nothing sits on the shelf for too long.
