You can find Hyderabadi Printer up on the second floor of the SMR Orchid building. We are at Flat Number 201, right across from where Chandana Brothers is located in Chikkadpally. It’s a busy area of Hyderabad, and the street outside is almost never quiet. Being on the second floor means we get a bit of a view of the rooftops, but mostly we are looking at the machines. The sound of the printers is basically the background music of our lives. It’s a steady hum that fills the room from morning until we close up at night. We don't have a fancy lobby or a receptionist to greet you. Usually, you’ll just walk in and see one of us working on a layout or loading paper into the trays. Ink stains on our fingers are pretty much a permanent feature. We handle all sorts of printing tasks that come through the door. Chikkadpally is a good place to be because there are always people around needing something done quickly. We don't spend money on big ads or marketing people. We just focus on the machines and the paper. Sometimes the elevator in the building acts up, so we end up taking the stairs a lot, which keeps us moving. It’s a simple operation, run by people who know how to fix a paper jam without thinking twice. We just keep our heads down and get the work finished.
