Shobha Foods

Our place, Shobha Foods, is located over at 5 340/2 Sy No 72 in Jillelguda. If you know the Saroornagar area, you probably know it can get pretty crowded during the day. We’ve been operating out of this building for a long time now. It’s a simple space where we handle all our food processing and packing. Most mornings start early, usually before the sun is fully up, so we can get a head start on the heat. There’s always a lot of movement, with sacks being moved around and the sound of the sealing machines going off. We don't really do much in the way of advertising because word of mouth in this neighborhood has always been enough for us. People know where we are if they need anything. The layout of the shop is a bit tight, especially when we have a big shipment arriving, but we’ve learned how to work around the stacks of crates. We drink a lot of tea while we work and talk about the news or what’s happening in the village. It isn’t a corporate environment at all. It’s just us doing what we know how to do. Sometimes the power goes out, and we have to sit outside for a bit until it comes back on. That’s just part of being in Jillelguda. We keep our records in old notebooks and try to stay on top of the daily tasks. We aren't trying to change the world, just keeping the shop running.
