Sandya Spices

Our place is on the ground floor of Bala Residence, right near Gokul Thera in Erragadda. It is not a big warehouse or anything like that, just a simple space where we handle all our spice work. Most people in the area know the building, so finding us isn't too hard once you get into the lane. We spend a lot of time sitting on the floor sorting through things or sealing up packets. It’s a bit cramped when we have a lot of stock coming in, and the boxes end up stacked almost to the ceiling. The light in the back room isn't great, so we do most of the sorting near the front door where the sun comes in. Working in a residential building means we have to be a bit quiet in the early mornings so we don't bother the neighbors living upstairs. We usually have the radio playing softly in the background while we work. It’s mostly just us and a couple of helpers getting things ready for the day. Sometimes the delivery guys have trouble parking their bikes because the street is narrow, but we manage somehow. It is a simple life here, just dealing with the smells of coriander and cumin all day long. We keep the doors open when it gets too hot, and we see the local kids playing outside on the street while we pack the bags and get them ready for the local shops.
