Hyderabad Spices

You can find us over in the Hyderguda area of Attapur, not too far from the Janapriya Apartment. It’s a decent neighborhood to be in, mostly residential, so we see a lot of the same families coming by our spot at 500048. The shop isn't hard to find if you’re looking for the apartment complex as a landmark. We spend most of our time dealing with the actual spices, grinding things down and mixing them up for the day’s cooking. The smell stays on your clothes even after you go home at night. It’s not an easy job, standing on your feet all day and making sure the kitchen stays organized, but it’s what we know. We have a small team here, and everyone has their specific task, whether it’s at the billing counter or back by the sinks cleaning up. The afternoon is usually the quietest time, when we can finally sit down for a minute and have some tea before the evening rush starts up again. We don't use any pre-made mixes or anything like that; everything is done right here in the back room. Sometimes the supply truck is late, or a light bulb goes out, and we just have to fix it ourselves and keep moving. It’s a plain, simple business where we focus on the food and not much else. We just want to get the work done and go home.
