You can find us right next to Osmania Hospital in Begum Bazar. Being at Door No 15-6-65/66/67 means we are right in the thick of things in Hyderabad. Sagar Darshini Veg stays busy because of the hospital and the traders in the bazar. We see all kinds of people every day, from doctors to people visiting their relatives. It’s a fast-paced place. People want their coffee and snacks quickly so they can get back to what they were doing. We start very early in the morning to get the first batch of food ready. The floor is usually a bit wet from cleaning and the air smells like sambar. We don’t have a lot of space for people to sit and linger, it’s more of a stand-and-eat kind of situation. That’s just how Darshinis are. We’ve had the same staff for a long time, so we know how to handle the big crowds that come in at lunch. Begum Bazar is always loud with traffic and people, so you just get used to the noise while you eat. We don’t put much effort into how the place looks, we just focus on making sure the stove is hot and the food is ready. It’s a basic veg spot for anyone passing through this part of the city. We’ve been here for years and the rush never really stops until we close the doors at night. It is just a regular local eating house.
