Ramakrishna Hotel

Being right opposite the Railway Reservation Complex here on St Johns Road means we see a lot of different faces every single day. Ramakrishna Hotel has been sitting in this part of Secunderabad for a long time, right in the 500003 area. It is usually pretty loud outside with the trains and all the people rushing to catch their rides or book their tickets. We get travelers coming in with heavy bags, looking tired and just wanting a place to sit for a bit. The building isn’t brand new, and we do not try to pretend it is. There is always someone checking in or checking out, and the lobby area usually has that faint smell of floor cleaner and old furniture. Our staff mostly keeps to themselves, just doing the cleaning and making sure the rooms are ready for the next person who walks in from the station. St Johns Road is always moving, so we do not get much quiet time. Sometimes the fans in the rooms are a bit noisy, but they do the job when it gets hot out. It is a busy life running a hotel in such a crowded spot. We do not do anything too fancy, just provide a spot for people to stay when they are passing through Secunderabad. It is honest work, and we have gotten used to the constant whistle of the trains and the crowd outside our front door. Most people just stay a night and move on.
