Prajaya Lodge

We are right across from the Secunderabad Railway Station at 9-4-43. Being in the 500003 area means we see a lot of people coming and going at all hours of the night. It's a lodge, so it's mostly travelers who just need a place to sleep for a bit before their next train. The rooms are basic. We have a bed, a fan, and a bathroom. It’s not a hotel with a big lobby or a pool. We keep the keys at the front desk and someone is usually there to check people in, even at 3 in the morning. The station noise is something you get used to after a while, the whistles and the announcements. We spend a lot of time changing bedsheets and cleaning up. People are usually tired when they get here, so we try not to bother them much. We’ve been running this place for years. It’s an old building, so sometimes the pipes act up or the paint looks a bit dull in places. We fix what we can when we have the time. It’s a family business, and we live nearby, so we are always around if something goes wrong. Most people stay for a day and then they are gone. We don't get to know them well, but we see a lot of different faces from all over the country. It’s just how things are at a station lodge.
