Pragathi Bhojanalaya

We are over here in Abids, right near Hanuman Tekdi. If you know where Pragathi Maha Vidya College is, we are basically right there. This part of Hyderabad is always crowded, and we’ve been part of that noise for quite some time now. We serve food to people who are mostly in a hurry, like students or folks working nearby. It’s a simple setup. We don’t have fancy chairs or anything like that. The kitchen stays hot all day. We start early in the morning getting everything ready. The smell of the spices usually fills the small street. Sometimes we run out of things if the lunch crowd is bigger than we thought. It’s just how it goes. My family helps out, and we have a couple of guys who have been with us for years. We aren't trying to be a big restaurant chain. We just want to make sure the plates are full and the food is hot. Sometimes the floor gets a bit messy during the rush, but we sweep it up as soon as we get a minute. Being in the 500001 area means there’s never a quiet moment. We’ve seen the college change and the streets get busier. But we’re still here in the same spot, doing the same thing every day. It’s hard work, but it’s what we know how to do. We just keep the stove going and wait for the next person to walk in.
