Navrang Company

Our small shop is near the masjid in Mallepally. The address is 11-3-913/10, but most people just look for the blue door near the corner. We call ourselves Navrang Company. We deal in various things depending on the season, mostly supplies that local people need. It’s a cluttered space with shelves reaching up to the ceiling. I usually sit at the front desk near the entrance. It can get quite hot in the afternoons because the sun hits the front of the building directly. We’ve been in this neighborhood for a long time and know everyone on the street. It’s not a corporate office with glass walls or anything. It’s just a room full of inventory and a couple of old fans that hum all day. My nephew helps me with the deliveries when he isn't in school. We don't have a big marketing plan. People just walk in because they know we have what they are looking for, or they call us on the landline. The street outside is always busy with cycles and people walking to the masjid. We try to keep things organized, but sometimes boxes pile up in the aisles. It’s just the way we work here. We stay until the evening prayers and then head home. It is a quiet life but we stay busy.
