Naveen Spices

Our place is at 4-563-541/24 on Abids Road. If you’ve ever been to Abids, you know it’s a hectic area with people and vehicles everywhere. Our shop is right in the middle of that chaos. We deal in spices, so the air inside is always thick with the scent of turmeric, cumin, and dried chilies. It’s a very old building, and the walls have absorbed the smell over the years. We spend our days weighing out portions and filling up bags for the customers who walk in. A lot of our business is done with people we’ve known for twenty years. They don’t even ask for the price anymore; they just trust us to give them what they need. We have several large grinders that make a lot of noise, so sometimes we have to shout to be heard over the din. It’s a dusty job, and we all go home with spice powder on our clothes and in our hair. We don’t have any air conditioning, just a few old ceiling fans that struggle to keep the air moving. But we like the energy of the road outside. There’s always someone new passing by or a street vendor shouting their prices. We just focus on the quality of the spice we are bagging and try to keep our accounts in order before the day ends.
