Manohar Spices

Manohar Spices is located at 1-63/78A on the Kanchi Gachibowli Road. This part of Nallagandla has changed so much lately with all the new apartments coming up in Laxmi Vihar Phase 1. When we first started, it was a lot quieter than it is now. These days there is so much dust and noise from the construction but we stay busy inside. We handle a lot of different spices here. The bags come in heavy and we have to move them around by hand mostly. You can smell the pepper and turmeric as soon as you step inside the door. It gets into your clothes and stays there all day. My father used to say that’s the sign of a hard day’s work. We don't have a flashy storefront because we mostly focus on the actual spice work. People from the colony come by often to get what they need for their kitchens. We know most of our neighbors by name. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to wait a bit before we can get back to work. It’s just how things go. We try to keep everything clean but with spices it is a never ending job. We just keep our heads down and do the work. It’s a decent living and we are happy to be a part of this growing neighborhood. Our family has always done this, so it feels very natural to us.
