Mai Ki Rasoi

Being right across from Mahesh Bank keeps us pretty busy throughout the entire day. We are located at Shop No 3-2-846 in Kachiguda, which is a very central spot if you know your way around Hyderabad. Badruka College is just beside us too, so we see a lot of students coming and going with their heavy bags and books. It’s mostly just us in the back cooking and serving whatever we have ready for the day. The kitchen gets really hot, especially in the middle of the afternoons, but we have gotten used to the heat by now. We don't have one of those big menus or anything like the fancy places you find in the malls. It's just simple stuff that we know how to make. Most of our customers are either working in the nearby bank offices or studying at the college next door. They usually just want something quick and honest to eat. We’ve been at this address for a good bit of time, and though the neighborhood has changed a lot around us, we try to stay the same. The floor is a bit worn down in places from all the feet walking in every day. We spend a lot of time cleaning up after the lunch rush is over. It gets noisy with the traffic on the main road, but inside it’s mostly just the sound of plates and people talking. We don't put up big signs or do much advertising at all. People find us because they walk past us every single day on their way to class. It's a small space, but it works well for us.
