Home Made Masala

We operate Home Made Masala out of our place at 14-69-75 in the B C Colony of Bowenpally. It’s not a factory or a big commercial building; it’s more like a house that we’ve converted into a workspace. We started this because we weren't happy with the stuff you buy in the big supermarkets. We do everything ourselves, from cleaning the seeds to grinding them in small batches. This means the spices are always fresh, even if the bags don't look as professional as the ones in the store. We don't have a marketing budget or any fancy flyers. Most of our customers are people who live nearby in the colony or friends of friends. We spend a lot of time in the kitchen area, and there’s always a bit of a mess on the counters. That’s just how it is when you’re actually making things. We don't have set hours sometimes; if someone knocks on the door and we’re here, we help them. It’s a very informal way of doing business, but it suits us. We don't make huge quantities because we want to keep the quality the same every time. Our labels are just printed on a small machine and stuck on by hand. We just want to provide good masalas to the neighborhood. It’s simple work and it keeps us busy throughout the week here in Bowenpally.
