Diamond Jubilee High School

Our school is right in the middle of Abids on Chirag Ali Lane. The address is 5-8-503. If you know Hyderabad, you know how crowded Abids can get. It’s a narrow lane and there is always something going on outside. We’ve been in this building for quite a long time. It has that old-city feel where every inch of space is used for something. The rooms are a bit high-ceilinged. You can hear the sounds of the traffic from the main road if the windows are open. There isn't a lot of grass around here, mostly just the stone and the buildings of the lane. We spend the day going from room to room. The stairs are worn down from years of people walking up and down them. It’s a busy spot. In the morning, it’s a bit of a scramble with scooters and cars trying to navigate the lane. The staff comes in, gets their coffee, and starts the day. We have the office near the front. There’s always paperwork on the desks. It’s a functional place. We don't have a big playground, just the space we have. People in the neighborhood know us well. We see the same shopkeepers every morning when we arrive. It’s just a normal school day in a very busy part of the city. We don't try to be anything we aren't. It’s just a place for learning in Abids.
