About Bamboo House India – Architect, Interior & Structural Design in Hyderabad
We have been running Bamboo House India for quite a while now over here in Uppal. The workshop is at 4-123/C/1 in Padmavathi Colony, tucked right behind the Venkateshwara Temple. You can usually hear the temple bells while we are working on the bamboo poles. It is a bit of a dusty job, honestly. Bamboo shavings get everywhere, especially when the wind picks up. We spend most of our days sorting through the raw stalks that come in. Some are thick and some are thin, and we have to figure out what they are good for. We build things like garden fences, chairs, and even some small huts. It is hard work on the hands and we often have small cuts from the fibers. The yard gets crowded with all the inventory. People from the neighborhood stop by to see what we are making. Sometimes they just want a few sticks for their plants. We don’t have a big fancy showroom or anything like that. It is just a practical space where we get the job done. The weather affects how the bamboo dries, so we are always watching the sky. If it rains, we have to scramble to cover everything up. It’s just us and a few helpers trying to make something useful out of natural materials. We stay busy with the orders that come through, mostly from word of mouth around this part of town.
