Ayush School Uniform

We’re up on the 4th floor in the Amar Cooperative Society building. It’s right in Guttala Begumpet, which is part of Madhapur. Being on the 4th floor means we carry a lot of boxes up and down. We make school uniforms here. It’s mostly sewing machines and stacks of blue and white fabric everywhere. June is always our busiest month. That’s when all the parents show up at once wanting everything finished by Monday. It gets pretty crowded in this small space. We have a few tailors who have been with us for years. They know the patterns by heart now. Hyderabad summers make it tough to work without the fans on full blast. Sometimes the elevator in the building acts up, so we have to use the stairs. It’s not a fancy showroom. It’s more of a workshop where we get things done. You’ll see measuring tapes hanging everywhere. We try to keep the sizes organized but sometimes things get mixed up during the rush. Most of the local schools send their families here. We know the regular customers. It’s noisy with the machines running all day. We just try to get the stitching right. It’s simple work but it keeps us busy from morning until late evening. The floor is usually covered in thread and scraps, but that’s just how we work here in Madhapur. We just keep our heads down and keep sewing until the orders are all finished.
