Atropia The School Of Art

We are located at Shop Number 15 inside the Hanuman Temple Complex in LB Nagar. It is a bit of an unusual spot for an art school, but it actually works very well for us. Since we are inside the complex, there is always the sound of bells ringing and people visiting the temple nearby. Our small space is filled with wooden easels, jars of brushes, and half-finished paintings leaning against the walls. The floors usually have a few spots of dried paint on them, no matter how much we try to scrub them clean at the end of the day. It is a small shop, so things get a bit crowded when we have a full class of students. People bring their own sketchbooks and we provide the space and some help with their techniques. We do not have any fancy lighting, just the regular tubes on the ceiling and whatever sun comes through the front door during the day. On the weekends, it gets very busy with kids and adults coming in to draw or paint for a few hours. We keep a stash of old newspapers to cover the tables so they do not get too messy from the oils or watercolors. The smells of turpentine and charcoal are almost always in the air here. People often poke their heads in while they are walking through the temple complex just to see what the students are making. It is a simple, creative corner in Hyderabad.
