Arul Tailoring School

We are located at number 52, right where Road 4 and Road 6 meet in the ECIL area of Hyderabad. It is a straightforward kind of place where we spend our days teaching people how to sew. We have got several sewing machines set up and big tables for laying out fabric and patterns. People come here for all sorts of reasons, some want to learn to make their own clothes and others are hoping to start a small business from their own homes. Tailoring is a skill that takes a lot of practice and patience, so we spend a lot of time going over the basics like how to thread a machine or cut a straight line. It can get pretty noisy in the room when everyone is working at once, but it is a good kind of busy. We do not have any fancy marketing or a big staff. It is just us showing what we know to whoever wants to learn the trade. The neighborhood here is usually quiet enough that we can focus on the needlework without too much distraction. We get students from all walks of life, and it is interesting to see them get better at it as the weeks go by. Measuring and fitting is the hardest part to learn, so we do that over and over until it clicks. If you are in the ECIL neighborhood and want to see what we do, you can just stop by the shop. We are usually there working on something or helping a student with a tricky seam.
