Annapurna Spices

If you walk down Boduppal Road, you will eventually find us at 99-4-7/234 in Mallikarjuna Nagar Colony. We’ve been running Annapurna Spices from this spot for a while now. It’s a residential area mostly so it stays a bit quieter than the main roads. We spend a lot of time sorting through different seeds and dried peppers. The sun hits the front of the shop in the morning and it gets quite warm inside. We usually have the radio playing in the background while we work. Neighbors often stop by for a quick chat while they are out running errands. It’s a small operation but we keep ourselves busy with the orders that come in. Sometimes the children from the colony play outside near our entrance. We have to tell them to be careful of the spice dust because it can make you sneeze a lot. We don’t have any fancy machines; we do a lot of things the old way. It takes more time but we think it’s better that way. Our family lives not too far from here so it’s a short walk to get to work every day. We don't really have a big sign or anything, just the address and our name on the wall. It’s enough for the people who know us. We just try to do an honest job every day and provide something useful for the local kitchens around here.
