Al Shifa School For Intellectually Disabled

Al Shifa School For Intellectually Disabled is located on the second floor of the Pancom Business Centre. That’s at Plot No 206 B, right on the main road in Ameerpet, Hyderabad. Being in a business centre is a bit different for a school, but it’s where we are. We work with children and adults who have intellectual disabilities. Our daily routine is quite different from a regular school. It’s a lot about patience and small steps. We have rooms set up for different activities, some for learning and some for just resting or playing. Ameerpet is a very loud and busy part of the city, but once you come up to the second floor, we try to keep things a bit calmer. The staff here are really dedicated. They deal with a lot of challenges every day. We don’t have a playground, so we do everything indoors. It’s not a place for big speeches or fancy awards. We just focus on helping our students get through their day and learn basic things that help them. Sometimes it’s noisy, sometimes it’s quiet, but there’s always something happening. The families who come to us are looking for a place that understands their situation. We’ve been at this location in Pancom for a while now. It’s a practical space where we do the best we can with what we have. It’s a small community up here above the busy shops.
