Usha Martin Limited

Our office is located on Kalachand Nandy Lane in Howrah. If you know the area, you know it’s quite crowded and full of energy. We’ve been at 45/2 for quite some time now. The building is old, like most things in this part of West Bengal, but it has character. You can hear the sounds of the street all day long—rickshaws, people talking, and the occasional horn. It’s a bit of a walk from the main road, but we don't mind the exercise. Inside, we have a small team. We mostly deal with the day-to-day operations for Usha Martin Limited. There’s always a stack of papers that needs filing and someone is usually brewing a pot of tea in the corner. We don't have fancy furniture or a reception desk. You just walk in and someone will help you. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we’re too busy to worry about that right now. In the evenings, the lane gets even busier as people head home. We usually stay until the work is finished. It’s a practical space. We focus on the tasks at hand and try to stay out of the heat during the summer months. It’s just a regular workplace where people put in their hours and go home to their families. We like the local vibe here, even if it’s a bit noisy sometimes when the market is in full swing nearby.
