But we’ve been here for years, so we have a system. We deal in steel. It’s heavy, dirty, and loud. The shop is filled with pipes, rods, and sheets. Everything is covered in a fine layer of iron dust. We don’t wear suits here. We wear old clothes that can take a beating. Our workers are strong guys. They have to be for this kind of work. We spend the day cutting and loading. The sound of the saw is the background music of our lives. We don't have a computer for everything. A lot of the accounts are still in big registers. It’s how we like it. We know the price of steel by heart every morning. We don't need a news feed for that. People come to us because they know we have what they need in stock. We don’t make promises we can’t keep. If we don’t have it, we say so. No corporate talk here. Just straight answers. It’s a hard way to make a living, especially in the heat, but it’s what we know. We’ve seen other shops come and go. We just keep moving the steel.
