Shree Hanuman Iron Stores

Our store, Shree Hanuman Iron Stores, is located at 32, Chatterjee Para Lane. We are very close to the K6 bus stand, so there is always a lot of noise and people moving about nearby. We deal in iron and steel stuff, mostly for construction or small repairs. It’s a heavy business. We spend most of our time lifting things or moving metal around the shop. The lane we are on is quite narrow, so when a truck comes to deliver more stock, it blocks everything up for a bit. It’s not a fancy place at all. The walls are a bit stained and there is iron dust on almost everything, but that's just the nature of what we do. We don't wear uniforms; we just wear whatever can get dirty. We've been at this spot for many years and have seen the neighborhood grow and change. Most of our customers are locals or builders who have been buying from us for a long time. We don't really do any big promotions or anything like that. People know we are here. If someone needs a few bars of iron or some specific metal pieces, they just walk in and ask us for it. We try to keep a good amount of stock so nobody has to wait too long. It is a tough, physical job, but we are used to it by now. We just keep the doors open and do our work as best as we can every day. It’s what we know.
