Sarbajit Dhar

I am Sarbajit Dhar and I live and work at 104/2/3 Sheikh Para Lane in Howrah. This neighborhood is quite crowded, and the lanes are narrow, so it can be a bit of a challenge to get around if you’re not used to it. I’ve been in this same spot for many years. I have a small room at the front of my house where I do all my business. It’s a simple setup with a desk, a lamp, and some filing folders. I don’t have any staff or a receptionist. If someone knocks on the door, I’m the one who goes to see who it is. Howrah is a loud and busy place, especially with the 711104 area being so active. There are always trucks and motorbikes passing by, and the sound of the city is something I’ve just grown to accept. I usually start my work early in the morning before the afternoon heat becomes too much to handle. I keep a large jug of water on my desk and a small fan blowing on me while I work. My daily routine isn't anything special, just steady work that keeps me busy. I know almost everyone on my street, so there’s a sense of community here that I really value. I don’t need anything more than this small, practical space to do what I do. It’s my own little corner in a very busy city.
