Amitava Sen Gupta

My name is Amitava Sen Gupta. I’m based at 103, Kali Kundu Lane in Howrah. This is where I do my work. Kali Kundu Lane is one of those typical Howrah streets where everyone kind of knows each other. My office is just a part of the building here. It’s not a fancy glass building. It’s an old place with a lot of character and maybe a few cracks in the walls. I spend most of my day here. I’ve been in this profession for a long time. I don’t have a big staff. It’s mostly just me handling the files and talking to people who drop by. I keep a lot of books around because they help with the work. The area is usually busy, especially during the day. Sometimes it's hard to find parking on the lane, so most people just walk. I like the rhythm of this neighborhood. I don’t have a polished sales pitch or a brochure. People come to me because they need something specific done, and I do my best to help them out. I keep regular hours, but sometimes I stay late if there is a lot of paperwork to finish. It’s a quiet life, mostly. I’ve seen the neighborhood change over the years, but 103 Kali Kundu Lane stays pretty much the same. If you need to stop by, it’s best to call first.
