Atindranth Nath

Atindranth Nath is the name on the papers, and I operate out of 609, Sarat Chatterjee Road in Shibpur. This part of Howrah is always crowded and the streets are narrow, but it’s where I’ve lived for a very long time. The house is an old building, the kind where the walls are thick but the paint is peeling a bit here and there. I don't have a big staff or a large office space. It is mostly just me in a room with a ceiling fan and a lot of books and files. People from the neighborhood know where to find me if they have a question or need some help with their paperwork. The road outside is busy with rickshaws and people walking to the market. Sometimes it’s hard to hear yourself think when the horns are blaring, but you get used to it after a few years. I don’t use any fancy computers for everything; a lot of things are still done with a pen and paper because that’s how I learned. My family has been in this district for generations. We aren't trying to be some big corporation or anything like that. It is just a local business handled from a home address. Some days are slow and I just sit on the porch, and other days people are knocking on the door before I’ve even had my tea. It’s a quiet life in a very loud city.
