If you travel via Munshirhat in the Howrah district, you will find our college in the P.O-Kanpur area. It is a very green part of the country, and the college sits right in the middle of it. We are a small institution, and the atmosphere is quite relaxed compared to the big cities like Kolkata. The students here are mostly local kids from the surrounding villages who want to get their degrees without traveling too far away from home. The building is not very big, but it serves the purpose. We have a few classrooms and a place where the students gather to talk during their breaks. It gets very humid here during the monsoon season, and sometimes the rain makes so much noise on the tin roof that it's hard to hear the lectures. We don't have any big marketing teams or fancy brochures to show off to anyone. Most of what happens here is just the daily routine of classes, exams, and the occasional college program. The staff is quite small, so we all end up doing a bit of everything, from handling the admissions to looking after the library books. It is a humble place, really. We just try to keep the doors open and provide a decent place for the youth of this district to come and learn something. It might not look like much from the outside, but it’s an important spot for the people living around Munshirhat. We just take it one day at a time here.
