Jadavpur University

This particular spot is located at 30/6 Asutosh Mukherjee Lane in Howrah. It’s an interesting place because most people associate the university name with the big campus in Kolkata, but we are right here in this part of West Bengal. The building itself has that old, lived-in feel that you only get with places that have been around for generations. There are always stacks of papers, old wooden furniture, and the smell of ink and old books in the air. We see a lot of students and staff members coming through these doors every day. It’s never really quiet here; there is always the sound of someone discussing a project or the scratching of pens on paper. Sometimes the fans overhead make a clicking sound that we’ve all just learned to ignore. We have to deal with the typical Howrah weather, which means it’s either very humid or very rainy. The lane outside is quite narrow, so it’s always a bit of a squeeze when people are arriving for the day. We don't have a polished corporate office look. Instead, we have posters on the walls and folders piled high on the desks. It’s a working environment where the focus is on getting through the syllabus and the administrative tasks. We just do our work, talk to the students, and keep the wheels turning as best as we can in this old neighborhood. It is a bit chaotic, but it works for us.
