Prabhu Iron Stores

Over here at 20, I. R. Belilious Lane, things are usually pretty crowded. We are Prabhu Iron Stores, tucked away in this part of Howrah. You’ll know you’re close when you see the Holy Child English School nearby. The lane is quite narrow, so when we get deliveries of iron and steel, it can be a bit of a squeeze for the trucks. We have stacks of metal everywhere, from floor to ceiling in some spots. It’s heavy work, moving those rods and sheets around all day. The air always has that smell of raw iron and a bit of rust. We’ve been in this spot for a long time now. The neighborhood kids from the school pass by every afternoon when classes let out, adding to the noise of the street. It’s a busy, lived-in area. Our shop isn't much to look at from the outside, just a lot of metal and a small desk where we keep our logs. We don't bother much with decorating or making the place look polished. It’s a warehouse and a store first. We know where everything is, even if it looks like a mess to someone just walking in. In Howrah, you get used to the pace of things. We just open up early, help the contractors and builders who stop by, and load up what they need. It’s a simple, honest way to spend the day and we wouldn't know what else to do with ourselves.
